Should I move my font foot when I swing?

Often times I hear youth coaches instruct their hitters to “simplify,” and “don’t move at all, the less movement the better!” Without the movements of a load and a stride, hitters will continue to struggle with timing and power. It is precisely those things that will IMPROVE both a hitter’s timing and power! By starting movement back while the pitcher is in his delivery, and using a controlled stride while the ball is in the air, hitters will develop tremendous feel and timing for the pitch. These movements also allow for energy to be drawn from the ground, travel through the body – – then the bat – – and from the bat into the ball with massive force. Hitters will experience a freedom in their swing like never before!
